This group is specifically designed for therapy students pursuing a graduate degree in marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology or social work who may be facing a range of challenges related to their educational experience. It provides a supportive space where students can connect, share, and learn from one another while working through common struggles such as:

1. Transitioning into Graduate School

Adjusting to graduate school life can be overwhelming, whether it's navigating new social settings, academic pressures, or living away from home for the first time. This group offers a place to discuss these challenges, gain support from peers who are also going through it, and develop coping strategies for managing the ups and downs of this transition.

2. Managing Anxiety and Depression

Many students struggle with anxiety or depression, which can affect both academic performance and personal well-being. This group provides a safe, non-judgmental environment where members can share their experiences, explore coping strategies, and gain emotional support from peers who understand what it's like to deal with these mental health challenges in an educational setting.

3. Supplementing Therapy

Whether students have been in therapy before or are currently in therapy, this group is a place to connect with others who ‘get it.’ It allows for peer support alongside any ongoing individual therapy, providing a unique opportunity to share experiences, explore new perspectives, and feel less alone in the therapeutic journey.

4. Reducing Loneliness and Isolation

Graduate school can sometimes feel lonely, even when surrounded by people. Many students feel isolated in their struggles, believing they are the only ones experiencing certain challenges. This group helps foster connection, combat isolation, and remind students that they are not alone in their feelings.

This therapy group for therapists in training will help you…

  • Gain deeper awareness of the thoughts and tendencies that are keeping you from fully experiencing life and accepting the ups and downs that come with it.

  • Learn how to effectively communicate your needs and set healthy boundaries in your relationships with friends, partners, family members, friends, coworkers, and more.

  • Feel seen, heard, and validated by connecting with others who can relate to you in a safe, honest, and supportive environment.

  • Learn the impact you have on other people and learn more about how others impact you.
